William hurt is the newest cast member to top-notch TV show Damages. He’ll be playing a client of everyone’s favorite villain Patty Hewes, played by Glenn Close. Sadly, there’s not much more to tell about his role at the moment, but another class actor added to the case is never a bad thing.
There are a few rumors floating around that Hurt may be playing a romantic interest for Hewes, but we’ll have to wait and see if those come to anything. It’s oddly the first time that Hurt has signed on for a regular spot on a TV show, but not the first time he’s worked with Glenn Close. They worked together on the big screen in the movie The Big Chill.
Damages is one of those sleeper shows that a lot of people might have missed which is a real shame. It’s double renewal back in November means that we’re guaranteed another two seasons of Patty Hewes and her double dealing. It’ll be back on FX in the early months of 2009 and hopefully it’ll deliver the same intrigue as it did in the first season.
