What accent does Josh Thomas have?
Josh Thomas is one of the panelists on the Aussie TV show Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation. There’s been a fair bit of chatter about Josh Thomas’s odd accent because Thomas is Australian, but actually sounds kind of Irish when he talks. Questions like “Is Josh Thomas Irish?”, “What accent does Josh Thomas Have?” and “What is up with Josh Thomas’s Accent?” are a regular occurrence on many blogs, but most without answer.
Snarkerati however loves to help solve these TV trivia tastic questions so we’ve looked into Josh Thomas’s odd accent and believe we’ve found the answer. Josh Thomas is Australian, but sounds Irish because his parents are Irish. Seems odd given I have a good friend who’s parents are broad Liverpudlians and she sounds more Aussie than anyone else I know, but apparently Josh Thomas must love his parents accents so much he’s taken to it. Some suggest this is because Josh Thomas is a stand up comedian and the Irish accent is a good selling point. All I know is I can barely understand his dopey babbling on Talkin’ ’bout Your Generation and I wish they’d replace him with someone else.

i have a mild english accent just from my parents and family, and iv lived in australia my whole life.
the reason his accent isnt completely irish is because, obviously, its mixed with an australian accent.

Not even!
I’m half-Aussie, half-American, with an accent subtle enough for Aussie’s to think I’m American and vice versa, so I relate somewhat with Josh. So to say you wish they’d replace him is like an insult to anyone with a confusing accent, including me.
And he most certainly isn’t annoying! He is rather funny and interesting to watch. I like Josh and was thrilled to learn in the first place that he was going to be on Generation, and I certainly don’t regret. He’s awesome in that show!
So don’t go saying he shouldn’t be there! Because that’s BS!

Ok why can’t u stand him???? He’s not rude he’s nice and the other dude is a lot ruder the he is…I like him the best and I luv his accent and I luved when Cassie Davis was on with him and they were the best team on the series so there!! Face it he’s way better then u r!!! I better u probably sound like duck when u talk!!! But u can’t help it can u???? He can’t eithere and Some people like hsi voice so don’t waist ur tome commenting on someone u hate caus eI bet u have bette rthings to do… Cos come on…..I ‘d rather waist my time commenting and making a total full of me self then doin wat half of u guys r……!!!

Yeah he thought he’d just “pretend” to have an irish accent. It’s quite normal to take on your parents accents. I love his voice, it’s interesting and he doesn’t annoy me. I think he’s adorable and funny.

Its actually not that odd at all. I have a friend, he has never left Australia, and his mother is Australian, but because his father is Canadian, he has a strong Canadian accent. I guess it just happens sometimes.

Josh doesn’t have an accent. If you speak to him off the stage he sounds like a normal Aussie bloke. It’s all part of his act and helps get the little tweenies excited.
He’s a funny guy but one wonders what he is going to do for material when he turns 30. You can’t do virgin jokes for ten years.

having the accent is obviously something he has CHOSEN to do, he is not a victim of circumstance! Both of my parents have insanely strong accents and I have only picked up from them 2 words that I still mispronounce. If you get educated in Australia your whole life, it is near impossible to have an accent as strong as Josh ThomASS

Bill Jones: He does actually have his accent off stage. I’ve seen him perform a few times, and he speaks exactly the same when he is off stage.
The reason he does the hair thing is because he’s nervous.
