Tyler Perry Brings Browns to TV

Tyler Perry can do no wrong these days it seems. He’s just signed a deal with TBS for a comedy series based on his hit movie Meet the Browns.

TBS have commissioned 10 half-hours of the show with Perry staying onboard as executive producer and director. It’ll star David Mann as Leroy Brown and should be filming in Atlanta where Perry currently films ‘House of Payne’.

The show is set to start in January 2009 and if the first 10 episodes are a success, they’ll be looking to sign on for another 90. Perry certainly seems to be going places and no doubt with the syndication success of House of Payne, it makes sense that Meet the Browns will eventually go the same way.
