Top Pop Group is yet another reality based TV series on the MTV network. Remember when MTV meant music and music videos, before it became reality TV central, ah those were the days.
The judges for the new series – which airs September 11 – include Singer Michelle Williams, Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo and choreographer Brian Friedman. Your host should you choose to tune in will be none other than Mario Lopez.
Strangely the nine top groups are listed on the official site, so you don’t even get that ‘Idol’ fun of seeing the audition process. The groups all look pretty ordinary to me, same old same old mentality obviously went into this one, it’s like a few Pussycat Dolls, a Destiny’s Child and a bunch of boy bands. Yawn.
