There’s news floating about the entertainment ether that Simon Cowell has offered to save the Top of the Pops Christmas Special because he likes the tradition of it. The BBC axed the show, which has been a staple of Christmas viewing for years was deemed unworthy of screening this year.
Cowell said he believes the year has been great for UK music and that should be celebrated with the Top of the Pops Christmas Special going ahead. He stated he’d contacted the BBC and was waiting for a response.
It’s hard to believe Cowell is wanting to do this out of the goodness of his heart, given he’s got more money than God and appears to like it that way, but who knows, maybe he’s just saying it like it is. Would it truly be Christmas without the show airing?
