It’s always good to get the full story and hear both sides of an argument, such is the case here. Gay couple Simon Reeves and his partner tried to get tickets for Top Gear and were refused because the tickets are dished out in pairs and the gender split must be even (ie one man, one woman). This led Reeves to complain to the BBC because clearly he and his male partner could not get tickets.
Now this is a sticky situation, but it could be argued two ways. On the one hand this is truly stupid that two people of the same sex can’t get tickets, but on the other hand the BBC are clearly trying to keep the gender split of the audience equal, which is kind of cool since Top Gear is seen as a “blokey” show, but a lot of women LOVE cars (regardless of what mainstream advertising may have you believe). What do you think, homophobic or just a silly rule?

That kind of sucks, but if they let two guys in together (gay or not) then other guys will try to get in together, and it will be a huge mess and destroy the balance.
Solution: Find two lesbians and each gay guy partner up with them temporarily.
