What is it with all these law shows, the old adage that people hate lawyers sure isn’t true of TV series, with the sheer amount of legal drama being spawned left right and centre. The Whole Truth stars Maura Tierney and Rob Morrow, one as prosecution and one as defender, so we get to see both sides of the case, thus the title, “The Whole Truth”.The irony of this however is that all this does is show how legal representation is more about how much evidence either side can gather against the other side, as opposed to actual ‘truth’. At times things felt contrived with lines like “the only thing that matters is what that jury believes”, well that makes me want to feel an emotional connection to these characters. I’m not even going to go into the way Tierney’s character Kathryn Peale is portrayed, or the tacked on ‘truth’ as the credits rolled. Hopefully the next episode will be better, but it looks like it will be formulaic to say the least.
