I’ve been looking forward to reviewing HBO show “The Borgias” for many months. I was proudly the ‘guru’ of the show on TV check-in site GetGlue for months, until last week when some spam happy clown with thousands of minions got her posse to oust me. Well guess what lady, I hope you’re happy being the guru of a mediocre series.
So yeah, after months of excitement, waiting for “The Borgias” to air, I have to say I was left feeling ‘Meh’ as the credits rolled. Maybe I’d expected it to be more like “The Tudors”, which was captivating from the offset. As things stood, I thought “The Borgias” was fairly classy, but Jeremy Irons monotone and wimpy character didn’t cut it for me as what the patriarch of the renowned Borgia clan would be like. Also, too many male characters and giggly females. I say again ‘meh’, but I’ll give it my three episode rule to see if it picks up. For now, role on “Game of Thrones”. What did you think of “The Borgias”? Love it, or meh?
