Survivor Samoa - Were you happy with the outcome?

If you haven’t seen the end of the nineteenth season of Survivor, that being Survivor Samoa, you might not want to read any further, lest I reveal the winner - which I will - and spoil it for you. We’re going to question whether the right person won and look at opposing sides of the argument. Right let’s get to it… remember.. spoilers inbound.

Okay so Survivor Samoa has now finished and it seems a lot of viewers are upset that Natalie White took the prize, whilst schemer Russell Hantz was left with only the viewers choice award. There’s two sides to this really, those that believe Russell Hantz outplayed and outwitted everyone and therefore deserved to win and those who think someone so conniving didn’t deserve the cash.

Both sides kind of have a point, but is Survivor a popularity contest, or indeed - as the logo itself suggests - the survivor is the one who outplays, outwits and outlasts all others. It’s an interesting conundrum, personally I like the good guy - or girl - to win, the thought of someone who isn’t a nice person winning cash because they’re a liar and cheat kind of irks me. That said many viewers believe those traits are exactly why Hantz deserved the cash. What do you think?
