Stephen Gaghan project “S.I.L.A.” (Special Investigations L.A.), has just added another cast member to proceedings, this time by way of Jimmy Smits. If you’re a fan of Smits, you may have just done a litte “uh-oh”, given the dude is kind of the kiss of death to TV series when he’s heading them up.
The show that was originally titled “S.I.L.A.” (Special Investigations L.A.) is – unsurprisingly – set in Los Angeles and is said to be in similar vein to that of the movie “Traffic”. Smits is set to play Mayor Alfonso Morales, the guy in charge of the Special Investigations Unit headed up by detective Terry Mullins played by Noah Emmerich. He’s the central character in the story that sees him working for Smits in L.A. and trying to reconnect with his family, daughter Jennifer played by Emma Dumont and ex-wife Mary McCarthy played by Madchen Amick.
