Spooks MI5 heading for US public TV

Great news for public TV viewers in the US who like a little spy drama. BBC spy series Spooks (the nickname for MI5 agents) is heading for US public airwaves. Spooks or MI-5 as it’s known in the US follows the adventures of a group of agents working for the Ministry of Intelligence Department 5, kind of like the internal equivalent of MI6 (James Bond’s agency).
I’ve been watching Spooks recently as it happens and really enjoyed the first two seasons, but as the seasons continue, changes in cast have left it lacking slightly. It’s still a fantastic series, gritty and interesting, but will the socio political landscape of spying without the Jack Bauer styled explosions appeal to a US audience? Hopefully it will, it’s well worth a look.
