Starz has announced the upcoming third season of their hit series Spartacus will be its last. Now titled “Spartacus: War Of The Damned” the new season is set to premiere January 2013.
series creator/executive producer Steven S. DeKnight had the following to say: ““It was an extremely difficult and emotional decision for my partners and I, yet, in the end, the story was best served by rolling all of the remaining action and drama of Spartacus’ journey into one stunningly epic season that will be extremely satisfying for everyone who’s been along for the ride”. I’m not sure it’s ever satisfying to the fans for a show to end when it’s still doing so well, but I guess sometimes it’s better to go out on a high.
