Showtime casts Joanne Whalley in The Borgias

The Borgias Showtime Joanne Whalley Jeremy Irons

This is great news. Things are moving along nicely for Showtimes new show The Borgias, based on the lives of the Borgia family in 15th century Rome. The Borgias are essentially a bad group of people who would stop at nothing to gain power and wealth. Oh and did I mention this should make great television.

Joanne Whalley has been cast as Vanossa, wife of Rodrigo Borgia, played by Jeremy Irons. If you like The Tudors or Rome, you might want to add The Borgias to your 2011 view list. Check out the clip below:

I am a direct decendant of the Orsini family from Ferendino Italy. A Tiberia, (my fathers surname) married an Orsini in the 16th century. I am still an owner of the Italian property in Ceccano Italy, of which came into the Tiberia family through marriage to the Orsini’s.
