Series finale of Kyle XY a let down to fans?

Wow seems like a whole lot of people are more than a little upset about the way teen sci-fi / conspiracy series Kyle XY ended. The show is being lambasted by many fans crying for more answers. There’s nothing worse than when a show ends forever and you’re left with nothing, no answers, just questions. I remember this painful feeling when Shaun Cassidy science fiction series “Invasion” ended and I wanted to know how it was going to end had it not been axed in the manner it was. The same issue it seems plagued Kyle XY because it was axed, so the finale episode wasn’t actually filmed as a finale as such.
Most viewers of Kyle XY agree it was a great episode as a stand alone, but as a series finale it lacked weight. Such a shame really. Here’s hoping Battlestar Galactica does better at answering all our questions when the series finale airs in mere days eh.

I agree, the show as a stand alone and as a cliffhanger for a Season 4 is great, alot of questions arouse from the ending.
But as a season finale it really leaves us fans frustrated and more than a little angry at ABC for axing the show (as if we weren’t already!).
Here’s hoping that having such an open end will pave the way for another network to see the potential (of which there is HEAPS) for the show and pick it up (anybody at CW, this is right up your alley!).

That was a let down. It was a great season finale not a show finale. Kyle And Cassidy Brothers. and The future show down with Jessie And Amanda. The story line with josh was get good as well. ABC family really screwed up. And Kyle XY was the main reason i watched ABC family.

Yes, the series finale was a big time let down. It would have been an excellent season finale, but the show can’t end like this. Too many questions left unanswered. That is why there is a campaign going on to save the show. The fans are trying to get another network to pick it up. We can do this only by writing letters to ABC Studios and other networks. We must tell them why Kyle would do well on their station. The addresses are all on savekylexy.com. Write a letter today and save the tub!!

A big let down! This show was not supposed to end now. ABC Family killed it because it doesn’t fit the new direction they’re taking. Something’s really wrong with the network’s Executives, instead of looking for diversity in their programming, they choose to keep 3 shows that are basically the same, and get rid of Kyle XY, the show that made the network. We can’t let the show go without a fight, the cancelation has nothing to do with the ratings, otherwise they would have changed the time slot and promoted the show, which we all know they didn’t. If you want the show to come back, go to campaign-kyle-xy.forumotion.com/forum.htm or savekylexy.com for all the info on the campaign to Save the tub!

LET’S BOYCOTT ABC FAMILY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My list of wonderfully unique shows which have been dropped just when their underlying themes challenge the status quo has now been heartbreakingly joined by KyleXY. Themes of honesty and wonder, viable science and questioning covert authority, multiple ways to love, functional families collaborating… Good grief! KyleXY has been fascinating from the get-go, but everything just got really hot, and all I can think is that ABC is scared to host such a brave show. And yes, absolutely the ONLY reason to watch ABC Family has now disappeared.
Remember JERICHO! The show was chopped just as the true instigators of the nuke attacks were about to be revealed, & at least 2 separate USA gov’t headquarters were being formed, & the surviving citizens were tentatively creating trading agreements with nearby towns… it would have been so fascinating to see how the post-bomb US reassembled, whether the ‘puppet-masters’ stayed in power or had to yield to citizen’s newly developing self-governing… what a non-surprise that the show had to be silenced. After all, the advertisers are the true network bosses, and this sure does challenge corporate primacy.
And then there was Everwood, what a profoundly rich tapestry of humanism and honesty. Cancelled, too, just at a turning point of true growth in the story lines.
Is anyone else beginning to wonder if shows could be produced on DVD and entirely bypass the broadcaster’s limited sights? I surely would support that as a new market. Bet a lot of us. Maybe KyleXY or Jericho’s producers could be persuaded to spearhead?

As someone else said, ABC Family decided to cancel Kyle XY long before the first episode of Season 3 aired in January. Kyle XY “outgrew” ABC Family by being an intelligent, discussion stimulating show with great writing and superb acting. It appealed to viewers of all ages, not just the pre-teen and teenage viewers that ABC Family wants to attract. They did not promote the show at all and thereby guaranteed that viewer numbers would be down and they could use that as an “excuse” for dropping the show. Little did they know the incredible backlash of negative publicity such a move would make. ABC Family is easily the most hated network in existence today. Kyle XY fans of all ages are uniting to not only boycott ABC Family but to campaign to “Move the Tub” to another network. Check out savekylexy.com or kylexy.net for informaton on how you can help!

Bad episode to end the series is good for a season finale. But the hell was going through their minds to end it like this. Just like one person said Kyle XY was the reason I watch ABC Family. I’ve even bought that series on the DVD. If you end something like this all you’re going to get is a lot of criticism because people want to know what happens next. I’ve seen in some shows when they finish the series they end it happy, great, and interesting. I mean come on try making a movie to show everything get resolved. Just like what they did with Stargate SG-1 and Startgate Atlantis. Please, please think of something to give the Kyle XY fans a chance to know what happens.
Thanks.

Though it was the most intense ep of Kyle XY ever, I was very disappointed with the series finale. I wud’ve at least understood ending it where Cassidy revealed he is Kyle’s brother, but ending it before he chooses Amanda or Jessi also leaves me a little disappointed. I am a teenage guy who isn’t really into romance and all that crap, but I was really hoping to see who he chose still, mayb this means there will be a 4th season some day?
March 20th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
I was really hoping that I was reading the T.V. wrong for the last three weeks when we realized that Kyle XY was ending…I prepaired myself and was waiting for answers. I however; never got any, along with the rest of america….Jessie or Amanda? Are the Treggers really alive? Is Casidy really Kyles brother? I am saddened that ABC Family has axed a show that was actually one of the most realistic T.V. families that I have ever seen on T.V.
March 20th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Thank you for calling attention to this most-awesome of shows – namely Kyle XY. As a very avid fan, I am of course saddened at the cancelation, but am hoping that some network (if not ABC or ABC Family) will bring it back.
As fans, we can all do our part. Write letters, send post cards, send Sour Patch Kids, sign petitions, do whatever it takes (within reason and common courtesy) to get Kyle XY back on the air! Those interested should check out kylexy dot net. We’re organizing and doing what we can to spread the word. And the word is –
Save The Tub! Move The Tub!
Keep Kyle XY!

I was let down as well but not as much as some people who obviously watched the show not knowing it was the end. It had been announced some time prior to the last show but unfortunately ABC Family chose not to allow the cast and crew to do an actual final show or movie. They had no respect for the fans who actually allow the network to continue. They have totally ignored the pleas for more closure then a short sell out interview with the head writer. Even though I read the interview, I really did not want to. I wanted to SEE what she saw, not read it. Besides it was short too, almost as if ABC Family was angry that they even had to allow for that. I know it is all about the money but for a show like Kyle XY I wished it did not have to boil down to that. It was a good and inspiring show, appealing to such a wide range of ages and demographic. Reading the comments on ABC Family ages ranged from 15 to 70 some. There were comments from all over the world. All of them angry, lost, wishing the truth was not the truth. But it is. And we all have to move on. This was not just any show. For those people who never watched it they may never understand why we say that. If they ever do, beware, the last show really hurts.
March 22nd, 2009 at 6:45 pm
Kyle XY was certainly canceled before it’s time. Fans have (1)a plethora of unanswered questions, (2)a massive desire to see this program continued and (3)the drive to do what it takes to see that goal accomplished. What does this mean to networks? It means that (1) there is an established show with a great fan base that is waiting on someone to answer these questions (not to mention a plot that is screaming for a script), (2)with massive desire comes devoted fans, and (3) now those fans are grouping together to resurrect Kyle (much like he resurrected Jessi).
While we’re still reeling from the recent “hiatus” of Kyle XY, we’re not giving up hope! Fans can & have (and will) brought canceled shows back to life. Please join us at kylexy.net and see what you can do!
March 23rd, 2009 at 6:55 pm
I was very disappointed with the ending of this great series. Every Monday evening I couldn’t wait to see this program. The ending was very disappointing. ABC Family let a series go without any reasons. The lost is on them.
March 24th, 2009 at 1:45 am
Kyle XY is a prime example of the old adage, “only the good die young.” After three short seasons, we as fans are left begging for more… more of a show that was our bright spot on Monday nights.
We Kyle XY fans are a loyal group. As a member of KyleXY dot net, I’m doing what I can to help resurrect this show. You can join in the fight as well. The more of us that speak out for Kyle XY, the easier it is for the networks to hear us!
March 25th, 2009 at 6:26 am
With the cancellation of KYLE XY by ABCF, the fans have lost a battle but certainly not the war yet. People all over the world are involved in trying to Move the Tub to another network.
The forum on WWW.KYLEXY.NET as well as SAVEKYLEXY.COM and SAVETHETUB.COM are great places where to find anything to help our cause.
March 25th, 2009 at 7:57 am
I agree. I am a viewer from China. I like Kyle xy very much. why not give us answer. I hope ABC family will provide at least 2 episodes more to give us a ending even it was axed.
March 25th, 2009 at 8:21 am
I am a viewer from China.Kyle XY is such a great and inspiring show that I can’t wait to see a new episode every Tuesday. But now I can’t see 11 episode in season 3. Does ABC family will really give us a true ending of this show?
March 25th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
To the author of this article I am a fan of Kyle XY and it would be truly appreciated if you could write a column about our continued campaign efforts. Fans of Kyle XY are deeply disappointed by the ending of the show and after following the show loyally for three seasons we are hoping for a proper conclusion. ABC Family sucks. All they want to give us is 3rd rate movies and garbage tv series. Kyle XY should have been released on network tv like it was the first season. It had double and triple the viewers than on ABC Family. I watched every episode twice each week. Then life happened and I now watch tv on the internet when I have a few hours. The future is about flexibility, and watching when WE want to, not when THEY say to. Unfortunately a lot of great shows will die until the networks change their view.
March 29th, 2009 at 12:44 am
This episode may actually be the best thing that they could of done after being axed. It is arousing controversy and getting fans mad at the network. If not next year, I figure the network will have sympathy for the fans and our lack of answers and put Kyle XY back on the air. Until then, keep sending the hate mail.
March 30th, 2009 at 1:13 pm
Not good. You can not finish a season like that. Just like one person said Kyle XY was the reason I watch ABC Family. please abc family directors. Don’t stop Kyle xy.The serie is to good te be true.
Thanks.

Kyle XY was the best show on the ABC family network and it is indeed a troublesome time for fans, including myself. Paul Lee is the one to blame for letting go of Kyle xy. How can they end the entire show in that one cliff hanger of an episode…its absurd!
April 8th, 2009 at 3:30 pm
Kyle XY has a loyal fan base that is doing everything in their power to return new episodes to the air! Any fan of Kyle XY who would like to be a part of the campaign please visit savekylexy.com, savethetub.com, and kylexy.net.

April 18th, 2009 at 1:37 am
how can a show end like that i want to kick the stupid directers butt! i need to no what kyle does when cassidy tells him taht he is kyle’s brother and i want to see if kyle chooses Jessie or Amanda! What happens to kyle and jessie messing up the experiments!
April 18th, 2009 at 7:12 am
I don’t mind a show ending, but the networks recent history has been horrific. I think the networks need to make a contract with the fans to finish their business as (supposedly) they’re doing with Lost. At the very least they should make a 2 hour made for TV movie to end it or when the DVD comes out, there should be an additional interview with the writers and producers to answer all the question.
I guess they’re following the government’s example of a No Exit Strategy.
April 21st, 2009 at 12:26 am
The abcfamily.com site has a forum for Kyle XY, fans are still joining together to watch past episodes on Monday nights at the time Kyle XY would have aired had it continued, and discuss each episode in length. Join us as we continue to prove to abcfamily that we are not happy with their decision to drop this remarkable show.
