There’s no point in retelling the scandal that’s going on over at the BBC in the UK right now, but in quick summary, Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand, two of the networks biggest stars, did something stupid and are now facing the music for it.
Latest news is that Ross has been suspended without pay for three months and Brand of course has quit. These two however aren’t the only ones who are having to deal with the fallout of their stupid prank that involved calling up ex Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs and telling him Brand had “f***ed his granddaughter”.
The latest casualty is BBC 2 station controller Lesley Douglas who has resigned over the entire mess. She said she took responsibility for the incident going to air and has clearly been asked to leave. It’s a sad state of affairs for the woman who has been in the industry for over 23 years and has been a great success at her job. Who knows who will be next to go.
