I’ve been playing a little catchup with US cop show Rizzoli and Isles and I have to say I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far. Rizzoli and Isles features a female double team in the form of Detective Jane Rizzoli (played by Angie Harmon) and the delectable Dr. Maura Isles (played by Sasha Alexander).
The supporting cast too is pretty sweet, with Lorraine Bracco as the over protective Boston mom and Lee Thompson Young as the handsome, weak stomached cop Detective Barry Frost. At this stage the only real issue I have with Rizzoli and Isles is the old Hollywood stereotype that both women are somehow less for not being married and god forbid, in their 30′s. Dating and men are mentioned more than they need to be, given these are two strong female characters who could just ‘be’, but that isn’t the TV studio way.
If you haven’t watched Rizolli and Isles, try and catch it just to give it a try. Oh and if you’re a fan of really gay / not gay at all TV shows, Rizzoli and Isles ticks all those boxes too.
