Reality TV presents bore at the Emmys

Is it just me, or was the idea to have five reality TV presenters host this years Emmy awards a really, really bad idea?

The show was jointly hosted by American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest, Survivor’s Jeff Probst, Project Runway’s Heidi Klum, Deal or No Deal’s Howie Mandel and Dancing with the Stars Tom Bergeron.

The show seemed disjointed and the pre-written skits between the hosts didn’t seem to gel well for me. It seemed almost cringe-worthy at times and their continual banter over who would win Outstanding Host for a Reality Competition Show seemed boring.

The award eventually went to Jeff Probst for Survivor for those who care and even that in itself seemed odd. What exactly does he do on Survivor? Seems to me not much and he doesn’t have that much screen time. Still, hopefully the producers of the Emmys will get an actual host next year – just one, that’s all we can handle.
