NBC haven’t been getting too much great publicity lately and haven’t been high on everyone’s list of networks delivering good cheer to the masses, so it’s welcome news that they’ve given Parks and Recreation an early renewal.
The Amy Poehler comedy will be back for a third season next fall, ensuring that Poehler continues to be a big name for the network. Apparently the show has become a bit of a favorite for the NBC TV cheif Jeff Gaspin and NBC Entertainment president Angela Bromstad.
The show was a bit of a slow burner when it aired last year, but it’s grown to be a hit among critics and viewers alike showing up in plenty of top ten lists of the best shows of the year. Hopefully it’ll follow in the footsteps of The Office and Seinfeld that took a few seasons to turn into big hits – this season could be the turning point the show so desperately wants.
