Just a quick discussion post. Who likes paranormal TV? Who is sick of seeing ‘night vision’ camera footage (i.e. the grainy green footage all these shows use)? Seriously with all the cameras in the world you’d think we would have caught something on film that isn’t grainy. You would also think the chance of these paranormal hunters actually finding something when they’re out filming for a single day would be slimmer than the millions of regular people with mobile phones and other cameras.
What spurred this post is Jack Osbourne’s new show “Haunted Highway”, a show you and I could make if we got together with some digicams and a group of pals. Of course we’re not Jack Osbourne, nor do we have his contacts, so it’s not like it would get picked up, but we’d have as much luck finding the spooks as Jack and his pals. We’d just need to always do what they do, ALWAYS split up, always shake the camera just as you think you see something, run lots and also yell “WHAT WAS THAT!?” at the smallest natural sound. What paranormal shows do you watch, like, or hate?
Not only do I hate these paranormal shows I hate all reality shows. Everyone I know is always talking about Idol or the one where people get kicked off the island. See, I can’t stand them so much I can’t even remember their name. Of all the reality shows on if all the time I spent watching them it wouldn’t add up to 5 minutes. Like you said, why is everything grainy and everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off?
Reality shows are so not reality shows. If you didn’t know you were being taped is one thing. But if cameras follow you everywhere including the bathroom there is no reality there. I’d say they are just like monkeys in the zoo but that would be insulting monkeys. Besides, humans are supposed to be more highly evolved and should know better.
