Panettiere’s dad facing battery charges

Where’s a hero when you need one? Looks like poor Hayden Panettiere is the latest young Hollywood celeb to be embarrassed by her parents.

Panettiere’s father Alan was charged on Thursday after an altercation with his wife. He’s apparently been charged with misdemeanor battery and is of course protesting his innocence. He’s saying that it was merely an argument of course and that it was “blown out of proportion by a sheriff who wanted his 15 minutes of fame”.

Poor Hayden, if she’s not in the press for her selfless acts at saving marine animals, then she’s in there for her romantic endeavors. Now it looks like she’s following in the steps of Lindsay and Britney – having her parents overshadow her with their embarrassing brushes with the law.
