Yay! Showtime has renewed “Nurse Jackie” for a fifth season. Former “Dexter” showrunner Clyde Phillips will take over as showrunner for the fifth season after the departure of co-showrunners / co-creators Liz Brixus and Linda Walem.
Essentially Phillips wanted a show that was shot on the East coast (“Nurse Jackie”) so he could be closer to his family who reside in Connecticut. The cross-country commute to Los Angeles to shoot “Dexter” was his reason for exiting that series.
