This happened a few days ago, but I only just heard and to be honest I’m rather devastated. Maybe I’m alone, but I thought NBC comedy “Bent” was really good, it never failed to make me laugh and the two leads – Amanda Peet and David Walton – were great characters with great chemistry, sure a little cliche, but great.
I’m surprised and dismayed NBC chose to cancel “Bent” and then release some of the crap they will be in the coming months. I guess the suits don’t have a funny bone or enjoy a good ensemble, probably why they chose to burn this one off in the manner they did.
You’re totally right, I love that show!! I can’t believe they would renew something as miserably bad as ‘Whitney’. If they had given as much promotion and time to ‘Bent’ as they did ‘Whitney’, it would’ve been such a big hit. Or another network should’ve been smart enough to take notice of this gem and treat it right..
