Mr Carrie Bradshaw Matthew Broderick back to TV in Beach Lane

Looks like Matthew Broderick might have had enough of Broadway and is swapping the bright lights of the stage for a sitcom set in The Hamptons. Broderick is set to star in the pilot for “Beach Lane,” a new sitcom that will be set in the rather flashy Hamptons. According to sources, Broderick’s character will play an author hired to run an aging millionaires newspaper in the Hamptons area.

The pilot is being produced by NBC and co-produced by Lorne Michaels of “Saturday Night Live” fame. Broderick is one of those understated actors who really brings something nice to the screen, so it will be cool if the script can match up to his understated talents. Broderick is of course married to Sarah Jessica Parker of Sex and the City fame. The pair had twins via surrogate last year. A busy time in the Broderick Parker household.
