Because there aren’t enough dating shows and reality ‘love’ shows on TV, Fox thought they’d fill this empty void (sorry.. too sarcastic?) with “More to Love”. As though news of a new dating series wasn’t bad enough, the PR blurb for this one includes news that the contestants on the series will be ‘average looking’. One has to question what that means exactly, but luckily Fox president Mike Darnell clears it up for us.
“For six years it’s been skinny-minis and good-looking bachelors, and that’s not what the dating world looks like. Why don’t real women – the women who watch these shows, for the most part – have a chance to find love too?”
How kind of Fox to bring us some normality – when what they actually mean is fatness – and point out to the would be contestants that they’re less than perfect. Ironically the show will probably be produced by Mike Fleiss, so think of this like The Bachelor for heavier folk.
