Yes fans of the OCD detective Monk will be thrilled to know he’s got his 7th season thanks to the USA Network. Tony Shalhoub plays Private Investigator Adrian Monk, a man plagued with great detective skills as well as obsessive-compulsive disorder and various phobias. It’s a hoot to watch and always seems to me like it was made in the 80’s, though I’m not sure why.
USA Network has ordered 16 new episodes of the show which are expected to air in a split season, the first half showing mid year (July / August) and the second half January / February 2009.
As far as viewers goes Monk has managed to keep some pretty healthy ratings in its time. It’s also won numerous Emmy’s, a Golden Globe, a SAG award and been nominated for bucket loads more. If you haven’t managed to catch it, you should check out the DVDs, it’s pretty amusing.
