Marcia Hines Goes Badass on Idol

If any of you have been watching the new season of Australian Idol, you’ll notice that there are changes in the judging line up this year. Oh yeah, it’s not that there’s new judges, although to be fair there may as well be.

Marcia Hines, the usually congenial fence sitter of a judge has come out guns a blazing and taking direct shots at the contestant. Before the season aired, there were rumors that Marcia was to toughen up and quit being the easy judge and my word has she taken it on board.

Clearly Marcia is desperate to keep her prime slot on the judging panel and is hoping not to fall by the wayside like previous judge Mark Holden. She’s been bringing down contestants right, left and center and has even had a few in tears. Looks like this season Australian Idol has a few more sparks to it and it’s nice to see Marcia actually having a voice and swearing now and again, but I think I miss ‘nice Marcia’ as you have to have one nice judge. I guess the programmers are just thinking people love a good bit of swearing and nastiness in reality TV.
