Lois Smith is awesome in terms of body of work, so Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry is pretty thrilled she’ll be joining the cast of Desperate Housewives in its new season. Lois Smith is probably best known to geek audiences as Sookie’s grandmother Adele Stackhouse in True Blood, though her body of work goes all the way back to the 1950′s.
This next bit might be considered slightly spoilerish since it details her role in Desperate Housewives, you have been warned. Smith will be playing the role of Allison, she moves in with the Scavo’s to help the family, but clashes with Lynette due to her old fashioned views on what it means to be a wife and mother. Desperate Housewives returns September 26.
