Little Britain USA airs with good audience numbers, but is it a bit rubbish?

Little Britain US hit the air last week and picked up a fairly good audience. The US version of “Little Britain” starring David Walliams and Matt Lucas brought in around 4.8 million viewers when it aired on BBC America on Friday at 9.30pm.
It’s not all good news however with some critics panning the series as just not funny. One writer for a British news site states “Walliams and Lucas have spent so much time deciding which frocks to wear, they’ve forgotten write any gags. And their desperation to be outrageous is now just shockingly tedious.” and it seems he’s not alone in his views.
There’s no telling how the show will go, with its new US based charactership, but one has to wonder, has that ship now sailed?
