Fred Thompson is a man of varying talents and a guy most people will probably recognize, but perhaps not know his name. Thompson has been acting for years, though he usually ends up in fairly same – same roles, given his voice and demeanor. The man usually plays military / cop / agent or politician. If you live in the US you may also recognize Thompson for other reasons, since he’s a US senator from the state of Tennessee and he was named presidential candidate for the 2008 election.
Well since things there didn’t turn out well it seems Thompson is heading back to the small screen. He’s just been picked up to play NYPD’s chief of detectives in ABC’s US remake of UK ‘time travel’ cop show Life on Mars.
