Laura Dern gets Enlightened comedy thanks to HBO

Word is HBO have given the greenlight to the Laura Dern comedy pilot Enlightened, so called due to Dern’s characters spiritual enlightenment that takes center stage. Dern always seemed pretty cool to me, though more of a serious actress, so it will be interesting how this will work out.

Starring alongside Dern in the show will be writer, producer and actor Mike White, who you may recall best as Ned Schneebly in Jack Black movie School of Rock. There’s no word on an air date for Enlightenment needless to say, but we’ll let you know as it nears completion.
