Another reality show we could probably do without just got the green light, this time from Kevin Smith. Unlike Mark Wahlberg (see below this post), this one isn’t in a restaurant, it’s set in Kevin Smith’s New Jersey comic shop “Secret Stash”. AMC is the unlikely network to have green lit the series, which is thought of as being a sort of “Cheers” premise, wherein the comic book store is a bar for geeks.
Being a bit of a geek myself, I like the overall idea, but another reality show about something so mundane is a bit depressing. Still, it’s better than another dating series or a series based around a ‘central’ star, family or douchebag. No word on air date, though one would expect later next year.
