Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and Noah Emmerich cold war drama series “The Americans” has been picked up to the tune of a 13 episode first season order. The show follows Phillip (Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Russell), two KGB spies posing as a happy American couple in Reagan era suburbia.
According to feedback from pilot viewings, the cast are electric on screen, the drama tense and captivating. I guess we will see if that is studio hype or true when the show eventually appears on screens. Just a side note, this is not to be mistaken for “The Americans”, another US TV series that aired way back in the 60′s.
