Ahh yes, there’s that word again ‘remake’ and of course this is yet another good UK series being remade for US audiences. The original “Bad Girls” managed a full 8 seasons in the UK with 107 episodes. It ran between 1999 and December 2006.
The NBC remake is being done by John Wells, the man behind the US remake of UK series “Shameless”. Jurnee Smollett has been cast as a famous rapper, who is jailed on drug offences. A bit of a change for the lady who played Jess Meerriweather in critically acclaimed series “Friday Night Lights”.
