Joss Whedon to get Vanguard Award

It’s no surprise to geek TV lovers across the globe that Joss Whedon is as close to a writing God on earth as they come. Looks like the Producers Guild of America realize this also and plan to honor him with its Vanguard Award.

The Vanguard Award is generally awarded to recognize achievements in both media and technology. Whedon will be presented with the award at the 21st annual PGA Awards ceremony in Hollywood on January 21st.

This will come as welcome reward for Whedon who has just had his Eliza Dushku led show Dollhouse canceled. Hopefully this will just free him up to churn out some more excellent geek TV.
