Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse gets Angel writers

Dollhouse by Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon has roped in some old friends to help out with the writing on new show Dollhouse. Whedon is best known for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Firefly. He’s teaming up with Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer in Dollhouse-actress Eliza Dushku.

As for other friends joining him on the Dollhouse project, Whedon will be working with Sarah Fain and Elizabeth Craft, both of whom were writers on Angel. Fain and Craft were most recently working on Woman’s Murder Club, but were both let go last week. It has to be said, I’m quite stunned there are any female writers on that show given the content of whiney centralized man talk that goes on in it.

Dollhouse is being produced by 20th Century Fox, which is handy because Fain and Craft are both under contract to that studio. Dollhouse will follow the story of secret agents who have their minds cleared after each mission for security. Of course in true TV / Hollywood fashion Ms Dushku’s character begins to remember things the agency don’t want her to know. It’s slated for a 2009 release at present.
