Jennifer Saunders is Vivienne Vyle on Sundance

The series ‘The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle’ presently has its second season in production in the UK, but its first season has been snaffled by The Sundance Channel via BBC America.
Saunders is best known in the US for playing the zany Edina on Absolutely Fabulous, but this time she’s a talk show host sort of like Ricki Lake / Oprah and company (though I’d say she’s more like the deplorable UK talk show host Trisha, but maybe that’s just me). The show is a black-comedy that has an inside dig at that section of the media.
Sadly Julia Sawalha (Edina’s long suffering daughter in AbFab) doesn’t feature in the new show. It does however star Miranda Richardson and Brian Conley, so at least that’s pretty cool. It is funny? I don’t think so, but maybe you will.
