Yup, Simon Cowell has stated that this season of American Idol will be his last. Reasoning behind the move tends to be suggesting Mr Snarky is making the move from Idol to concentrate on the US version of X Factor which is due to start next year. Cowell stated he will be appearing as a judge on the new show.
The big rumor flying around at the moment is whether a certain Miss Abdul will be joining Cowell on the X Factor panel. There’s nothing official, but the rumor mill is definitely whirring. As for who will replace Cowell in the Idol hot seat, there’s not a peep out of the Idol camp as of yet, perhaps when the season ends that will come to light. American Idol starts tomorrow on Fox.
