Is Jay Leno the saviour of NBC?

It seems like almost everyone loves Jay Leno, right? NBC certainly seem to think so and are piling on the pressure hoping that Jay will be the answer to their ratings woe.

They are touting the new tentatively titled ‘The Jay Leno Show’ as their big show in the 10pm weeknights slot. Leno has spoken about how he’s planning to keep the best parts of his ‘Tonight Show’ such as the monologue, Jaywalking and guests. With a bigger budget however, Leno is likely to go all out with celebrity guests, new features and more – surely this can’t fail for NBC?

This is a big coup for NBC after most people believed the Leno move to ABC was all but done and dusted. Seems the thought of a primetime 10pm slot was enough to keep Jay interested in NBC and hopefully it’ll be a hit for both of them.
