I wasn’t overly sure about In Plain Sight when I’d read the press releases for it, but then I took the time to watch a video preview and I actually thought it looked pretty funny. Sure you have to suspend belief a bit, but it has a sort of humor tied up in its seriousness, which makes it kind of cool.
In Plain Sight stars Mary McCormack (“The West Wing,” “Private Parts”) as Mary Shannon, a U.S. Marshal working in the highly secretive branch of the witness protection program (WITSEC) who relocates Federal Witnesses – many of them who are career criminals, and many who are innocents that had the misfortune of witnessing a crime. They all have one thing in common — someone wants them dead. Mary’s job is to see that doesn’t happen, while at the same time attempting to manage her own dysfunctional family.
“In Mary Shannon, David Maples has created a strong, relatable character who fits perfectly into the ever-expanding USA roster of female leads,” said Wachtel, “and Mary McCormack is not only a genuine star but also an absolute joy to work with.”
She does seem like a hoot. You can catch Mary and the rest of the cast from April 24 when In Plain Site premieres.
