If the name Giancarlo Esposito isn’t familiar, how about if I said Gustavo ‘Gus’ Fring from “Breaking Bad”? Yeah, that soft spoken yet terrifying drug lord. He’s about to go from drug kingpin to Evil Queen sidekick. Esposito will play the ‘magic mirror’ to Lana Parilla’s Evil Queen. Parilla is captivating, so here’s hoping “Once Upon a Time” does better than her last big series “Swingtown”.
Given the “Once Upon a Time” real world parallels Esposito actually has two roles, in the ‘real’ world he’ll be Sidney, a reporter for the local paper who – like his fairytale counterpart – sucks up to the Evil Queen’s real world version Regina. Given the casting in “Once Upon a Time” this is looking really interesting.
