So who else has been watching “Geordie Finishing School for Girls” on BBC Three? The show follows 4 well to do ‘posh girls’ as they move to Newcastle for ten days to live like ‘poor girls’. This is essentially more cheaply made reality shtick, though every now and again it does dig a little deeper and it throws up some interesting questions about the British class system.
I have to say I just loved Shauna, such a lovely girl and she seemed to have her head screwed on right out of all of them, or she did until she made that silly decision in the finale by choosing not to nurture those smarts. Of the posh girls it’s Fiona who was my favorite, I think she was the only ‘posh’ girl that ‘got’ it, though Fi seemed to get the issues further in the last episode. One has to wonder if any of them will stay in touch, you can only imagine the haves will forget the have-nots as soon as they fully return to their fancy pads, and that is really sad.
