I guess the US version of “Wilfred” is more popular than the original Australian version it’s based on, given it’s just managed a third season, something the Aussie version never did. The original Australian version had two seasons, the first in 2007, the second in 2010.
FX has picked up a 13-episode third season for the man and his dog. Here’s what the bigwigs had to say: “David Zuckerman has done an amazing job adapting and reconceiving Wilfred for FX. It was his decision to step down from the [showrunner's] post, but we’re very happy he is going to stay involved with the show. Both we and David have great faith in the ability of Reed and Eli to seamlessly step up and take over the reins. I have no doubt they’ll do a great job”.
