Christian Slater just has zero luck with TV series doesn’t he? I get why “Breaking In” might not appeal to a mass audience, but I had assumed that like “The Big Bang Theory”, the geek audience would keep its ratings high enough for Fox to renew it. Sadly that isn’t the case, with the show getting the chop from Fox.
For me I loved all the pop culture referencing in the show, sure it wasn’t the best for character depth and episodic thrills, but it made up for that with good humor and some of the best geek moments in TV. You have to feel for Christian Slater, it’s like he’s become the Paula Marshall of TV series now, he’s like TV show renewal cancer. See ya “Breaking In”, you were good while you lasted.
