Ever wondered what happens to an ex-mobster? Well they of course go on to become a cop – at least that’s what Michael Imperioli has done.
The former Sopranos mobster has bagged a role in the American adaptation of Life on Mars. The ABC show will feature Imperioli as Detective Ray Carling, one of the colleagues of the lead character. He’ll be a “rough, tough sexist who has never heard of the phrase ‘politically correct’”. Not surprising really since the show is set in the 70’s where political correctness hadn’t really caught on.
Imperioli should do well on the show if it ever gets up and running. It seems to be plagued with constant changes and has recently shifted from its LA setting to NY. Time will tell if it’s as good as the British original, but Imperioli certainly seems to be a good call as far as casting goes.
