Even Jon Hamm thinks his character Don Draper is a douche

Well, to a degree, Jon Hamm kind of seems like he feels a little sorry for Don Draper, labeling him “misunderstood”. Sorry Jon, I have to disagree, you were right the first time when you stated “On the page, sometimes you think, ‘Why are we rooting for this guy? He’s kind of a douchebag’. But really he’s just misunderstood. I think what people respond to in Don is that there is a moral centre in there and he does have a certain code of ethics that follows.” Don Draper is a douchebag regardless of his off kilter “moral centre”.

The more I watch Mad Men, the more I am completely baffled as to why men and women find this guy in any way attractive, he’s a low human, with low morals and a twisted double standard of what’s right and wrong. I find it kind of sad people look up to this guy when even the actor playing him knows on paper – and on screen – he’s a douche.
