You know, the general attitude towards Joss Whedon’s latest offering Dollhouse has been a bit up and down for a while. The fans are desperate to see Eliza Dushku take on the lead role in a Whedon show and let’s face it, the premise if fairly interesting. The main problem however seems to be that the network doesn’t have much faith in it and has already relegated it to the Friday night ‘death slot’.
Typically, most people don’t watch TV late on Friday nights, or at least that’s how it seems, so Dollhouse being shown late on a Friday after Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles isn’t a good start. Sure, both shows might appeal to the same audience, but there’s just something worrying about it being placed here.
Regardless of the abysmal time slot, Dushku believes the show will be a hit and has been spouting about how Whedon made adjustments to the format to suit the network and ‘hook people earlier on’. Let’s hope that this show doesn’t head the way of Firefly and actually gets given a chance. There can never be too much Whedon or Dushku on TV.
