Cable network Disney XD has renewed animated series “Ultimate Spider-Man” for a second season. The series has been a hit in its key demographic (that of young boys, or so the statistics suggest), so it was never really in question at to whether this would see a second season, but rather when.
Season 2 will feature even more superhero / villain action, with Spidey hooking up with some other Marvel Universe heroes in the S.H.I.E.L.D. network. Disney XD VP Jeph Loeb stated: “With Season 2, the series introduces popular Marvel heroes and villains you’ve never seen before on the small screen”.
