NBC will have the sands go through the hourglass for another couple of years. The chairman of NBC Universal Television Entertainment announced the news stating the soap opera “continues to draw new generations of viewers, especially among its loyal female audience.
“Great news for the cast of the long running show, particularly given we now know even shows that have gone for decades are not safe from the chop (yes I’m talking about Guiding Light and As the World Turns). Ken Corday the executive producer of the soap allegedly broke down in tears when he was told the contract would run through to September 2013.
