CSI meets The Matrix as Fishburne joins cast

Well, ok, not really CSI meets the Matrix, though that is an interesting thought…. CSI has landed Laurence Fishburne to star in the upcoming season.

Fishburne will be playing the role of a forensic scientist, similar to Grissom, but his focus is more on why people commit acts of violence, rather than on bugs. He’s a former college lecturer and pathologist so it’ll be interesting to see how this role meshes with the others in the show. Any fan of CSI knows that most of the characters in the show don’t devote too much time to why certain crimes were committed and are more interested in how, so watching them take a new approach to the crimes may be an interesting addition to the series.

Look out for Fishburne in the ninth episode when he becomes part of the team after meeting them during a murder investigation.
