BBC One are at it again with another spin on the medical drama Casualty. Following the success of Casualty 1906, the series will return with the cleverly titled Casualty 1909 come May 7.
Cherie Lunghi and Sarah Smart will be back for the series which is expected to be in six parts. Casualty 1906 differs from other hospital drama due to its setting. Back in the day people weren’t rushed to the ER or A&E – Accident and Emergency – as it’s called in the UK, but rather the Receiving Room. Casualty 1909 is set in one of London’s hospitals in the East End and features all the usual action medical series offer, but with a turn of the century twist.
I never got to see Casualty 1906, but I think I will try and see Casualty 1909, it sounds like an interesting premise.
